Join the 8th annual Urban Coop Tour to find out why people are getting so excited about backyard chickens.
Urban coops are a fast growing trend in metro Atlanta neighborhoods, with families, community gardens and neighborhood co-ops all getting in on the action. Benefits include farm fresh eggs, kitchen waste disposal, bug patrol and just plain fun!
The Tour features 13 coops across Decatur, East Atlanta, Edgewood, Grant Park and the Old Fourth Ward. Coop owners will be available to introduce their ladies, answer questions and discuss coop design. Many coops feature artwork, edible landscaping, or other livestock (including rabbits, goats and a pot-bellied pig!).
Tickets: $20 early bird, $25 on Tour weekend. Free for children age 12 and under
(good for both days of the Tour, plus the Friday night launch party/silent auction fundraiser)

The City of Atlanta faces an infrastructure backlog of more than $900 million. Mayor Kasim Reed has made a commitment to address the city’s pressing infrastructure challenges. In order to begin improving our city’s roads, bridges, sidewalks and upgrade critical public buildings and facilities, the city is proposing an infrastructure bond referendum to pay for these repairs and improvements.
